Card games are an exciting blend of strategy and the random fall of cards. Unlike other casino games, you play against the players, not the dealer. There are different types of card games and here are the two of the favourites; Omaha and Texas Holdem.

To join the game, visit the Zone’s cashier and put your name on the interest list. If there isn’t a seat available then you can have your name put on a waiting list and you can get an SMS or alert when your seat becomes available. If you are a novice, you can also take help of HUD software from websites such as drivehud.com/, etc.

What is the objective of the game?

The main aim of the game is to win the pot by forming the highest ranked 5-card hand or have all the other players surrender the pot by folding to your bet.

In Texas Holdem, players may use any combination of 7 cards to make the best 5-card hand. In Omaha, the only combination a player may use is – using two hole cards with three of the community board cards.

How should you play?

  1. The Blind Bet: The blinds before a game begins, two players need to place a “Blind Bet”. The reason it is called blind bet is because the players have bet without seeing any cards. All players are then dealt with 2 private ‘hole cards’. After looking at their hole cards, each player then has the option to play his or her hand by calling, folding or raising the big blind. Each player must have bet of same amount in each round before the game can proceed.
  2. The Flop: After the first round is complete, 3 community cards are dealt face-up on the board. This is called “the flop”. In return, the players may either check, fold, bet, call or raise depending on what action has occurred before them.
  3. The Turn: After the stake action is complete for the flop, a fourth community card is dealt face-up and another round follows.
  4. The River: After the stake action is complete for the turn, a fifth community card is dealt face-up on the board.
